How to create a successful contest on social media
Contest and giveaways can be a great way of increasing your engagement on a social media platform, getting more likes on your pages, and really connecting with your ideal client. I wanted to talk with you guys about how you can do a giveaway for your own business and how you can set it up for success. We’ve done a few different types of giveaways in our business, from a website giveaway to a 12 days of Christmas style one. The goal of doing this for your business is to gain the attention of your ideal client and get them onto your email list.
When it comes to creating contests, too many people worry about getting the most entries possible. For me, I would rather have 10 entries that are my ideal client than 1,000 that aren’t. The point of the giveaway is to put your company in front of the eyes of your ideal client, so going for higher numbers doesn’t necessarily mean more of the type of people that you want to work with.
If you want to grow a particular platform through the contest, I personally recommend sticking to promoting it on that social media alone. For example, if your ideal client is on Facebook, make sure to stick with promoting it on Facebook if the goal is to get more likes on your page. If your goal is to grow your email list in general, cross-promoting it on different platforms can help you to reach your ideal client on all of them. There are so many different things that go into setting up a contest to be successful, and I wanted to share some of my tips with you guys about how you can do this for your business. It doesn’t matter whether you are a service based business or product based, giveaways can help to give you more of the success that you’re looking for.
