The coolest thing happened to me earlier today I was on a 30 minute strategy call with a fellow B-Schooler and they referenced something that I had previously written about on my blog. That had never happened to me before and what an awesome feeling it was. Content and authenticity is KEY in 2017. Apparently what I had written had resonated.

Her reference to my blog got me to thinking about getting shit done as an entrepreneur. All too often we put things off for another day or we are just too busy or just too whatever. I had put off blogging for my own business for years as I struggled to find the time to get it done. I knew it was valuable but I just choose not to make time to get it done. As I continue to grow the business beyond a one woman show and create a team I have come to the realization that creating my own original content for my business is going to be essential to the success of the business.

If I want to stand out and I want to grow beyond where I am I need to continue to showcase my expertise, my entrepreneurial journey and how we do things just a little bit differently at Outlier Marketing Group. Sure, not everyone is going to like my style or my personality but that is perfectly fine with me. They aren’t my ideal clients.

I need to stay within my “zone of genius” and focus on what I do best and STOP putting off the things that I know will help me be successful. Is it scary? Yes! But 13.5 years into this business I realize it is not time to fold up my cards. It is time to double down. It is time to win big and take this business to the next level.

It can be easy in life to fold up our cards rather than doubling down but what’s the fun in that? Entrepreneurship as in life is about taking calculated risks and sometimes taking risks when we know in our gut it is the right thing to do. Sometimes you have to double down on your investment in yourself and your business to truly see the winnings of all your hard work.

So what does all this have to do with you? I want you to double down on your strengths. I want you to focus where you know you are a rockstar and get that sh*t done! Stop waiting for the fog to clear, for everything to be perfect, and for whatever excuse you put in your brain to hold yourself back. Start today and do something different. I challenge you to do something this week that pushes you out of your comfort zone. I challenge you to get sh*t done and grow. I promise it’ll be scary but it will be worth it.
