Over the past few years, I’ve been working diligently to create systems and get new clients in my business. I mean, who doesn’t want more clients, right? People are always asking me, “Jamie, where do you find all these new clients?”
Well, I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Many of my new clients have been found in Facebook Groups.You’re probably thinking, well you have your own Facebook Group so it’s easy for you to get clients.This is true, but it is something that I only recently started, and I think I have a whopping 30 members (of course, feel free to join it here and learn more about why this group is awesome in another post). So clearly that isn’t the only place where I have found new clients.
Over the last 3 or 4 years, I have consistently gotten new clients each month from Facebook Groups other than my own, and I’ve done this by being strategic in how I post. If you are thinking those BS super spammy posts, then I’m not your girl. I’m talking about authentic, engaging and REAL posts that get comments. I’m talking about asking questions that get your ideal client to engage and say, “Hey, I wanna chat.”
Let me share a quick example I posted in a group a little over two years ago:
I am a mompreneur. I live in Newport, Rhode Island and own a boutique marketing company called Outlier Marketing Group. My company works with entrepreneurs, small businesses, and mompreneurs in two ways.
By doing social media management, website design, and branding for them
or
By consulting and educating them on the best practices for social media and consulting/educating them on the best way to grow their business, working with them to learn the vast social media world etc for them to implement themselves.
I am a Mom to an adorable 3-year-old son. I love to cook, working out, writing, paddleboarding, and skiing. I truly look forward to connecting with you!
It was a brisk November day and a woman named Karen responded to this post. I met with her that very same day, and she signed up for my social media services on the spot. A week later, Karen introduced me to Elaine who signed up for marketing services, then Elaine introduced me to Lauren, then Jill, then Kim, then Marc, then Nanci, and then just last week, I met with another woman who wants to build her online business and social media presence. All of this happened from this one post.
I did the math today as I was writing this blog post, and that one post has netted me over $45,000 in sales to date. Crazy, right? That’s the power of creating an authentic connection. You never know how one post might create a chain reaction of events and introductions that change the course of your business.
While not every Facebook Group post creates so many connections, I can’t help but see the power in creating strategic posts in Facebook Groups. Since so many of my clients ask me how I do this, I’ve decided I’m going to pull back the curtains and share with you the proven system I use to get new clients each and every month.
