4 Tips for making Success look Effortless
I recently had a colleague of mine say to me, “Jamie, you make everything look so effortless to grow your business.” I just smiled and thanked her for the compliment but naturally, it got me to thinking. Because to be honest it hasn’t always been that effortless and some days it is certainly a still a challenge.
I’ve made a very intentional shift to go from working in my business to on my business. Like many things in life, this has certainly been challenging, not always effortless, and it has taken some time (and work).
Here are just a few of the steps I’ve taken to set myself up for success,
1) Grow a team – Just a year ago it was me, my tech guy and a social media person NOW we have a team of 5 and I am hiring for 2 more roles and an intern.
2) Work toward my strengths – Sure everyone says this but certainly, for me, this has released a ton of tension and noise in my business. Sure I can edit WordPress websites, sure I can schedule and write social media content, sure I can create those graphics BUT is that a good use of my ZONE of Genius. Absolutely not and the more I continually develop the team and put people around me to support my strengths the faster we have grown. .
3) I’ve created self-care routines – Me ten years ago would have laughed at the me now saying “Create a self-care routine.” But seriously, as a CEO, entrepreneur, wife, and mom, I am the most important person and this one took me a while to figure out. If I am not treating my body and mind well. I cannot perform. Tom Brady doesn’t just train or eat well during the football season, it is part of his everyday life. As I established a routine that works for me, I feel better than ever. I am keenly aware when something is off and I need to take care of myself and all around I just more clear.
4) I’ve continually shown up, even on the days that I am just not feeling it. This is probably the most challenging but this requires dedication, motivation and staying focused.
