Look at it from the client’s perspective
All too often I hear entrepreneurs say, “My clients just don’t get it.” or “I’m having issues with my clients” or “My clients aren’t getting me the stuff I need to do my job properly.” When I hear this sort of thing, I can’t help but challenge the thinking because from my experience that often is a lack of education on the part of the entrepreneur with their client or prospect.
Usually, we take for granted our expertise in our field, and we assume that our prospect or client hangs on our every word, actually reads what their requirements are. From my experience, this isn’t the case. You have to educate your client on what to do. What they need to do to set you up for success and vice versus. When you are at the onset of a client relationship, it is all too important to set expectations and educate. So let’s talk all things positioning and how to see things from the client’s perspective.
