The 40% Rule By David Goggins
“It takes a lot to push yourself when you are all alone.”
This has been one of my favorite quotes from David Goggins! I recently finished his book, Can’t Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds, and I can’t say enough good things about it. This is going to be one of the books that I refer back to constantly because he makes so many good points. It’s super easy to push yourself to accomplish more when you have people watching, whether that be your team, your friends, or your family. But how much do you accomplish when no one is around to notice?
The book is based around the premise that most people are only using 40% of their potential and how you can bring that level up so that you can make the most of your time. Personally, I want to be able to say that I tried 100% in everything that I do so that I’m using my maximum potential.
It’s all about giving more of an effort to make sure that you are doing everything to the best of your ability. I know for myself I want to be a real leader on my team and to focus on managing our finances better. If you want to learn more about how you can live life to your full potential, get the book for yourself at
