Rant Alert: Let’s Stop the Insanity
We need to stop the judgment. This is going to be one of those podcast episodes where I share a really personal story about something that happened recently, and why it struck such a chord with me. The other night, my two boys and I had a spa day where they had a bath and we all relaxed and painted our nails. My 5 ½-year-old was very happy having orange fingernails, but a few mornings later he woke up crying, saying that he no longer wanted them to be orange (and saying that it was no longer his favorite color). After I took a moment to calm him down and really hear him out, he expressed that he was afraid to be picked on by another child about the nail polish.
After taking some time to reflect, it really got me thinking about how quick we are to pass judgment onto others, even over something as trivial as how they present themselves. It’s time to stop making snap judgments about one another, especially when it comes out of a place of jealousy. Even I’m guilty of this, I’m sure that we all are in one way or another. This whole episode is dedicated to how I believe we should stop judging one another and create a much more accepting and peaceful place in this world.
