Defining Your Ideal Client & Your Business Foundations
I was recently asked in my Business Ecosystem Builder’s program about how you can select your ideal client and determine exactly who they are. If you haven’t worked with a ton of clients, I usually like to assume that you would want to work with someone who is the same as you, just earlier on in their journey. That’s a great jumping off point for figuring it out. I’ve noticed that a lot of people struggle trying to find that soul mate client for their business.
Soul mate clients are the ones that are dying to work with you, they love working with you, and they’re excited about the things that you’re doing. They’re so pumped to have you in their lives. They’re excited to invest their money in you because they have such a strong belief in you and what you’re doing. It’s never easy to start your business and figure out who your ideal client is.
If that doesn’t resonate with you, some of the thing that we always look at as we’re building the foundation of a business is where they are in their lives. Do they have kids, own a home, or live in an urban environment? Are they into health and fitness? What are some of the things that are going to make them who they are? What motivates them?
I share this with you because I often feel like people are afraid to commit to an ideal client. They’re afraid to commit because they have a false belief that there isn’t going to be enough to go around. They think that there aren’t going to be enough clients if they commit to just one person that they want as their ideal client. I would contend that this is just an excuse, it’s self-sabotage, and a self-limiting belief. Want to know how you can make sure you’re targeting your ideal client?
