Scaling is one of the biggest challenges that entrepreneurs face. With scaling comes the challenges of hiring, creating systems, and delegating so that the business can grow and you can focus on Ecosystem Building.
Where you should focus –
It’s time to rapidly scale the one program you have been focusing on during phase 1 and phase 2. You have proven that you can sell this offering organically, you have built a community and now it’s time to turn up the volume on your marketing to make your offering wildly profitable.
This is where many entrepreneurs abandon ship and hit the reset button because this phase forces them to get really uncomfortable especially with their role inside of the company.
The focus here is on the implementation of the Dream 100 and a solid paid traffic strategy to quickly monetize your offering.
Hiring the right people and getting the right systems in place to delegate work to them is critical (and essential) during this time.
Where you will take action –
Your primary role will shift during this phase from doing into leading. Sure, there will be some deliverables that you will be responsible for for example continuing to market the business, delivering value to your community & creating relationships to implement the dream. However it is during this time you will yet again delegate more of your responsibilities of the day to day. You will continue to create strong systems so you can delegate repeatable tasks & processes. You will continue to optimize the delivery and customer experience of your signature course. Making it an incredible experience for all who say yes.
The challenges & struggles you will face –
HIring the right people can be hard, especially if you are starting to bring on employees vs contractors. You will have to thoroughly vet them and then also learn how to let go and delegate. You will also feel like “I can do this faster.” That is natural when you continually add new team members. Sure, at first that might be true but over time that changes.
You will feel a pull to go back to the old way of doing business because it can seem really hard when you bring on a team (even if they are contractors)
You will have to continually create systems during this time and if you business is continually growing you will always have something that “needs fixing”.
Things to keep remember –
It’s critical to stay focused on the goal of scaling during this time. It can be easy to quit here and go back to phase 1. There is a lot of resistance that pops up during this time. Create systems so that you and your team can fall back on them.
Hire slow and fire fast. Keep only the people who truly believe in your organization and empower them to own the outcomes they are responsible for. You may be impressed by what they create.
Use your creative juices for marketing. Show up consistently as the face of the company. Fearlessly be you and practice what you preach.
