I get questions from people all the time well…”How do you get such great organic engagement?” “How do you build fan bases organically?” “What is the time frame?”

Here’s the catch….I’ve spent years studying how audiences engage with their pages. I work diligently to understand what prompts the user to buy via archetypal marketing, I take well know leadership principles and tie them to social media….I think like an Outlier. I’d sell you pieces of my brain so that you could do it yourself but I don’t think that would work.  I will say though there is an art and a science to it but here are a few tips that will help you increase your presence TODAY!

1. Update your profile: Be sure your Facebook, Twitter, and other social platforms are up-to-date. Be sure they have relevant pictures (not ones from when you started the page). Update these pictures monthly or quarterly. Updating your profile also gains more traction especially on Linkedin, many of your users will get an email (based on their settings) that say “Jamie Palmer” updated her profile so don’t do this weekly but I highly encourage it!

2. Post Regularly: Whatever realms of social media that you work to attract followers…be constant in that. If you decide to do Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, and whatever new social media platform of the week that comes out and sounds cool, its very unrealistic for most entrepreneurs and small business owners to keep up with that especially without a dedicated person or team. I believe you pick 1 or 2 social networks and totally own them. Post on them daily, do them and do them well! I always say to business owners who are new to engaging on social media find something that you’d talk to a real person about and post it on social media.

3. Meet New People: This sounds silly but I’m a firm believer that even though the world is becoming more and more digital we still have to go out and meet new people. I highly encourage you to introduce yourself to at least one new person a day and engage with them on social media. If you do that 5 days a week,  that is 260 new people a year, and that is if they never share your page with their followers.
