The Rise and Fall of Raw with Social Media

If you have been on social media for a while like me you probably remember the days when you literally posted everything you did on social media. YUP, I look back at some of my memories on Facebook and can’t help but laugh. Then social media shifted to this perfectly curated feed where everything had to be perfect, curated, and your life was seen through this perfectly filtered lens where you created these Instagramable moments.

I feel a shift on the horizon happening again when it comes to social media. That is the emergence of the real, raw, unfiltered and authentic. This is a shift that is happening because users are getting tired of the uber filter, perfectly staged photos that are in their feed. We are living on our mobile devices and many of us are craving that connection to others and that comes from being real, raw and authentic.
