How to Throw a Successful Conference with Rich Brooks
Rich Brooks joined me on the podcast to talk all about his expertise in both the digital marketing field as well as how to host a successful conference or live event! Rich is the founder and president of flyte new media, a digital marketing agency that is based out of Maine. After having been in business for over 20 years, he is also a nationally recognized speaker on entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and social media. Rich is also the “tech guru” on the evening news show, 207, which airs on the NBC affiliates in Maine.
On the podcast, we got more in depth about how to throw a successful live event and what is needed to make it come to life. After hosting the Agents of Change for almost 8 years, Rich has a ton of experience when it comes to creating an in-person event that will be successful. He tells us all about the 3 S’s that are needed (speakers, sponsors, and seats) and how you can get these for your own event. Although he’s thrown events both big and small, Rich tells us how having an audience as small as 12 people can still be considered a success. Even if you start at a local conference room, a free room at your local library, or somewhere low cost you can put on a great event for the people who are in attendance.
Hosting your own events is a chance to promote your business, help to promote businesses in your area, or even create new business opportunities for yourself with people who attend! Rich was a great guest to have on the podcast and was able to share so much valuable information. For those of you who are thinking about starting your own event, this is one podcast episode that you can’t miss out on!
