Jamie: Hey everyone, it’s Jamie here with the O M G show. I am super excited because I have Willow Bradner here with me on the show today. Willow, welcome to the show.
Willow: So excited to OMG with you.
Jamie: So tell our listeners a little bit about yourself, what you do?
Willow: So what, what appealed so much to be about this show is just the OMG itself because I feel like I am an O M G entrepreneur and that, um, I’m what I call an accidental psychic, meaning I am a psychic, but I did not mean to be, and it’s quite accidental in terms of how it showed up. Um, I had been a hairdresser for, uh, 15 years, sort of when this veil was lifted and suddenly I realized that the really amazing advice I’d been handing out to my clients might actually be coming from somewhere else.
Yeah, it was my magic trick and I just, I honestly kept thinking that I was just really smart and until I realized on my wedding night, um, after copious amounts of alcohol had been consumed and it was just my husband and my parents left over, like my whole world had changed that night, not just because I got a ring on it, because those from the other side, our loved ones. Um, my husband’s late mom and my father’s late father all showed up at the party through me. So I suddenly became this weird channel for the other side on my wedding night. And that’s when it started to hit me that like, there might have been this whole time, something else working through and to me. But it wasn’t until I officially got trained and understood how it was that I was a medium and how it was that I was a psychic and how to use both of those modalities, both for my job and that as well sort of in the world and create those clear boundaries so that anytime I drink those from the other side weren’t showing up. But I was doing hair. I wasn’t like offering them psychic Intel without their permission.
Jamie: Yeah. So that’s so cool. So you had this like almost inciting incident where it just kind of like changed the game for you. So how did you take that and turn it into a business?
Willow: So it took a minute like, like everybody, and I always, I, I’m sure you share this so often on your show, but I think one of the rumors and all of our heads is like one day you have an idea and you launch it and then you’re successful. And I had a psychic moment on my wedding night and it then took a whole year before I agreed with myself, the universe and the world that I was going to do the psychic thing. And then it took three years frankly, of training and even during the training process I had, I had started the idea that I could be in business with this. I had started the idea that I could potentially be a fulltime psychic. I was a very successful hairdresser, so given that up for the other was really stressful. So for the last, I would say five years, I straddled both. I was both a dresser and a psychic and it’s just in the last year that I have finally released the hair and to given my way into the psychic field. And largely I think it’s like anything in business, I had to create two things. The identity of what I wanted to make. I think as a marketer you understand that totally. Is that the number one problem I think every entrepreneur has in starting out is that they don’t know their own identity and they get carried away with chasing all the shiny objects in business and not understanding that actually the identity of your business is your number one priority. So it took five years. I really feel to flush out the identity of what kind of psychic I wanted to be and how I wanted to be in this industry. And one of the things that was clear to me was that I did not want to be dial up for the dead. I did not want to be a psychic medium as we know them on television. And how do identify with the, with the facts of what I knew in the world and how I could use this tool. And for me it came down to what if every entrepreneur knew that they had intuition and psychic abilities and how differently would that help play in their entrepreneurial game? Because ultimately intuition is trusting yourself. And so back to that marketing idea of if you trust yourself, you get to your identity a lot quicker.
Jamie: Yeah. That’s so funny that you bring this up. I literally just had a 30 minute conversation with my business coach about trusting yourself. I’ve had like a whirlwind of a month this month. Like the craziest has happened. the craziest shit has happened this week. And I was talking to her, I’m like, and the lesson is this is like trusting yourself and the lesson in this is like, I should’ve listened to my gut in the lesson and this is, I should have done this and it’s so funny. And she’s like, well, you know, the more you use that and you lean into and didn’t you believe in it, you know it, stronger it will be. But I would love your perspective, uh, around really how do you start to even begin to trust yourself? Because like I think this particular instance, cause I think this is a good example where a lot of people see this, right? I’ve been in business for almost 17 years and I still struggle with this. I have this prospective client, they seem like they could be a good fit, but maybe they’ve thrown up a flag or two and you’re just like, I’m not sure they’re the right fit. Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t. And you’re like, what your guts, just like something about this person doesn’t add up, but you’re like, Hey, I could, you know, it’s another $7,500 towards my goal this month. And you’re like, I’d love your perspective around that. Cause I think that’s something I hear all the time that entrepreneurs struggle with and then they ignore their gut on that and then it causes so many ripple effects down the road.
Willow: Yeah. So, and I’m goose bumping and saying this, which is always like, we know we’re being guided profusely in this moment. Um, the bottom line here is, is that our ego is completely in tune and related to our financial income. Our safety is dependent on the money that we’re bringing in. And when we’re making an operating out of that ego space, out of the direction of fear, out of the direction of safety, we are not in intuition. So that’s number one. So when you feel anxiety, when you feel fear, when you feel like your bobble head is going back and forth, Oh my God, what should I do? What should I do? Your ego is in charge, not your intuition, okay? That initial gut reaction to this person was totally spot on and was totally clear and clear of when and you, you felt that something was not okay there. And I’ll attribute this to dating because so many of us, if you’re not with your partner now that you’re going to stay with for the rest of your life and you’re still out there dating, two things happen on that first date is one. You say to yourself, Whoa, red flags.
This doesn’t feel good. And then the second part of you is, but if I hold true to that identity, if I’m like every guy isn’t good enough for every girl, isn’t good enough for me that I’m going to end up alone for the rest of my life. That’s the story that we tell and we do the same thing in business. If I say no to this person, then what is another $7,500 client doesn’t come in the door. Yep. Well but what if two are able to, because you’re not going to psycho manage this 25 the step that it’s going to take up eight times as much time. There is like more abundance is often available when we remove the fear aspect. So that trust piece, that intuition piece is actually scary, scarier because it’s asking you to trust the whole universe is asking you to trust yourself and just know that you, well you might have a gap in time. Well you might have to wait an extra two weeks for the right client. That right client might show up with two. And again, I’ll use dating as an analogy in business because I think they’re the same energetically. If you’ve ever noticed in dating that we go through these dry spells, right? And there’s this period of like desperation. I’m never going to date again. I must be ugly. There must be something wrong with me. I’m never going to make it. And then all of a sudden like five guys show up on your doorstep and you’re like, fuck dude, how am I gonna choose between all these dudes?
How am I going to do this? How am I going to manage this? But it always ebbs and flows this way. And in business it’s the same thing. It’s like we have these sort of dry spells, but instead of using these quote unquote, and I’m gonna say it, they’re really not dry spells guys. Their opportunities by the way, for you to start creating something new, another Avenue for your business to start diversifying perhaps your energy in your business or to tie up all the loose ends on your fucking checklist and to do lists that you’ve been totally putting off. Right? These blank places in our business, our opportunities, these are not dry spots. There are opportunities. Same thing in dating. There are opportunities between relationships to get to know ourselves better, to like tie up loose ends. So I think when we’re really true in our intuition, it is that we are trusting that initial hit.
And we are just checking in with what is fear and what is not. And the best thing to do in fear is just write it out. Say it out loud. Okay, I’m afraid if I don’t take this client, I’m not going to have another opportunity here to make $7,500 I’m going to miss my goal. And what the fuck is a goal anyways? Some standard you’re holding yourself to, that’s limiting as well. Like what if there was no goal and there was no ceiling, right? So just write that down. Yeah. Am I going to die? Is saying no to this client going to kill me? Is this going to be the end of my business? And then on the inverse, what are all the reasons? If you were to take this person on, what are the fears of bringing this human into your business and what does that feel like as well? And your intuition is going to answer more to the, what am I afraid of on this client? Because you’re actually going to get psychic Intel of how they feel to get really clear around the red flags.
Jamie: I love that you say that too. Cause it’s um, it’s such a, like as entrepreneurs we, I’m always like, Oh I’ll at least a lot of the people that I support are like, all right, we’ve got to get that next deal and the next deal and that next deal, right? Like where’s that next thing going to come from? But when we kind of just, what I’m hearing from you is when you kind of just settle in and you’re not just settling, but whoever comes through the door next and you know, as my business has grown, I’ve said no to a ton of people because I’ve realize like, Hey, not everybody is the greatest fit for me or whatever. But when we were first starting out, that is such a tricky thing.
Willow: And to speak to those starting out what I think is such an exemplified energy and the starting out of yes and no is this, and I just experienced this in my own business. So by the way, I’m not perfect either guys. When I say no and I stand in the power of my actual yes because no by the way is not, no, I don’t like you or no, I’m not good enough. It’s no, I’m protecting myself and no actually protecting them as well. I’m taking care of their energy as much as my energy. When I say no to them, it’s actually the kindest word that I could offer to either one of us. Yeah. And when I’m generous and kind to myself, I create more abundance and more energy. And when I say yes to people that I know in my gut, suddenly I take up time, I take up energy, I lose out.
So all that financial aspect of the wind feeling there is actually lost on me because now I’m having to work double time and my energy is just really woeful and bad. But here’s the other aspect of know that’s really important to feel. People love VIP. People love it when they feel that they have won a spot and it is exclusive to them. And when you have a wait list, you are that much more popular. And when you are hard to get into, you are that much more popular. So the idea that I’m like a yes, yes, yes. More and more and more I need, I need, I need that energy of desperation doesn’t create like a winning crew of people who are going to talk you up and want to be your best client. That creates an energy as well inside of them that they sort of are scrambling in your environment as well so that no energy is actually yes to yourself. Yes, your business and creates this amazing abundant energy. And I have to say I work maybe 20 hours a week maybe. And I am making what I used to work in doing hair. I used to work 50, 60 hours and I’m making the same amount working now 20 hours a week. That’s awesome. And it’s not because I’m doing anything special, I’m just saying.
Jamie: No, that’s true though. I mean, and you know, I don’t know about you, but I’ve gotten really good at setting boundaries in my business. Like I’m only available between this time and this time. Like, um,
you were one of the first people who like filled out the podcast application form. It didn’t send me a message saying, Hey, do you have this time available instead of the times that are on your calendar? And I’m like, Oh, the times that are on the calendar or the time of the recording podcasts. Like you know, and it’s funny because when you set those boundaries people, some people respond really positively and other people want to make an exception.
Willow: Well, let’s talk about that too because I think that this is really one of those things that’s happening anyways. It’s like this weird entitlement bullshit. Um, yes. Thank you for saying it’s horse shit guys. Like it’s somebody’s offering you an opportunity. By the way, if you’re volunteering to go on a podcast, if you’re invited to go on a podcast that is an inva station and you don’t have to make it to the party, you do not have to go to the party. Yeah, you are welcome to not go to the fucking party. It’s a free opportunity for you to market your business, to share your message, to be a part of somebodies energetic space and in and with their audience. That is an invitation. That is not something where they have to offer you any exceptions to the law or the rule.
Jamie: I love you because that’s how I felt like no thank you.
Willow: You got, it’s immediately you get an F plus in my book like and it’ll give you the plus cause at least you wrote him know your God feel into the opportunity and not into the I can’t, I won’t.
Jamie: Yeah but I bring the boundaries thing up cause I also think another thing that happens when people first become entrepreneurs is a, you say yes to everything and you just work all the time. And you just mentioned you’re working 20 hours a week making the same amount of money that you made in 50 or 60 hours hairdressing and, or being a hairdresser and I very much worked maybe 30 32 hours a week and I have a team, right in fairness. But my business broke another record last year. Like made more money than it ever made. I know we’ll do the same thing this year and I’ve really just said here’s where I’m doing. I’m going to show up between these hours and serve and give and this and that and the other. And I feel like, you know, there’s so many people who tell you just like hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, hustle, it doesn’t have to be that way.
Willow: So I loved that you mentioned that you were working with your business coach yesterday cause I really feel so strongly that those of us in the industry who are serving others must be served ourselves as well. So I was working with my coach yesterday and this energy that keeps showing up on my behalf that I’m really getting so clear about is hustle is the absence of trust because it’s the trying eating energy versus the trusting energy. And so hustle is like, well I’m doing all this stuff, but most of the time I’m actually avoiding all the things that I want to do because they actually scare me. So I’m going to work harder at my business in the areas that are comfortable but are not necessarily in flow with who I am or what I want to be doing.
They’re just easier, but I’m going to have to work twice as hard to make that kind of money there because it’s actually out of flow with what I actually want. It’s out of alignment with who I am and what I actually want for my business. But as long as I’m hustling, I’ll eventually get where I want to go versus the inverse of just trusting and going, okay, these first baby steps out of the door of avoidance and into what I actually want and putting myself forward in the space. And I’m sure you experienced that early in your business. The more again, we show up in our identity and our truth and trust ourselves, the more we become aligned with what we want.
Jamie: Yeah. So how, I mean I know you’re not be able to answer this on this call in full, but like what is like that first baby step you can take to really like I always say like peeling back the layers, right? And really being able to show up authentically. Right. And I think that’s very much kind of what you’re talking about. When you say like understanding what’s your business identity or what’s your identity as an entrepreneur? Like what does that first step look like into that journey? Cause it’s a journey. It’s a journey.
Willow: Well let me, let me use the business models that I feel like we’re sort of being shown right now. We’re being shown massively in a big way online businesses wherein you buy a course and they teach you something and then you want to be a course person who sells a course who does this thing. And some people want a brick and mortar and they’re doing it that way. Some people want to be a speaker or an author or what have you. So if you are wanting to build an online course, but all you’re doing is one-to-one work, then you’re avoiding learning the tech aspect of your business. So the first steps into the truth and identity of your course is to learn some of the technical pieces of the business so that you can put a course out into the world, which means that you have to understand marketing and advertising and some of the other aspects of a course.
Beyond that, you have to learn how to put yourself out there. You’ve have to learn how to really market yourself beyond your comfort zone. Then let’s say you want to be a speaker or an author. Again, if you’re going to be an author, you have to build your followership. So you have to have a big number of humans behind you who are already like totally invested in you and just want more of you. So you’re going to have to do all the homework around what it is like to build, um, a group of humans who love you. Yeah. If you want to be a speaker, I’m sorry, going on Facebook everyday and doing lives, is it going to get you a gig on linked in and starting to find out the HR companies that hire speakers going into um, places that you can maybe even make it your own event and book spaces and start again marketing yourself to the point where people are coming to see you speak, that’s going to get you speaking gigs but sitting on Facebook all day long and hoping people like your post isn’t going to get you business.
Yeah. So those are the places where I think the baby step is and the baby step isn’t is like whatever it is that you actually want. If you want to make $100,000 a year or $200,000 a year or more, that’s totally possible. But you might have to get your butt off of the comfort zone and onto the streets and go meet people and join meetup groups and like pass out business cards and introduce yourselves. And if you’re using Facebook as a tool and as a vehicle, don’t just write a pretty post and not put your website at the bottom of it. Like how are they going to get to you if they can’t click a link and book you? Yeah, so it’s just really basic stuff and most of the time we’re really shy and we’re hiding from our truth and we’re hiding from what we really want and we’re just putting ourselves out there to the comfort zone and we hit this hard edge of vulnerability of like, but what if they actually see me?
Or what if they find out that I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing or what if they do find out who I am and they don’t like me or they find out who I am and I am successful. These are all the sort of vulnerable fears, which speaks again to Jamie saying she has a business coach. And frankly to me saying that I have somebody that I work with because we all have vulnerability, we all have edges, we all have places where we are on motherfucking comfortable. And so if you are in that corral, if you have that electric collar around your throat and you’re not getting where you want to go, then you need to hire somebody. You need to get somebody to hold your hand and walk you through that gateway.
Jamie: Yeah, and it’s so true because I see it all the time where, and a lot of the work we do in our, like our group done with you program, right? It’s really a lot of the, I want to say that how to have all the things that you’re talking about. Like here’s how you do all the technical self. Here’s the strategy behind that. Here’s the best. And I don’t really touch upon the mindset stuff, right? Like I very gently scratch the surface of that. But oftentimes what I see all the time, and it’s actually funny that this conversation is coming so full circle because the woman that I was speaking of earlier, every, every, every ripple effect that happened with her, with the red flags was her fear of actually moving forward. Right? So I see all the time you’ll be like, okay guys, here’s what we’re going to do this week. You got these things to do. Well they’ll do all the easy things with inside their comfort zone. But the one thing that’s actually most important that moves you towards your vision is the last thing that gets done every single time. Cause it’s uncomfortable. Yeah.
Willow: Yeah. So that’s the baby step. Wait, the step is this guy’s like, cure this out. And the mindset piece is huge. And that’s, I mean I, we all have to work on that aspect. The fear that you have in your bones is the first thing that you do in the morning. Get up and before your ego has like done a pile on and given you all their fucking reasons why you shouldn’t go for the thing you want. Do the thing that scares you first. Yeah. That at the top of the list, not at the bottom of the list. Don’t wait for it because it gives your ego, AKA your fear enough time to develop an irrational reason for you not to do the thing
Jamie: Right. And as the day goes on, you can just come up with better and better excuses as to why you’re not going to get it done today.
Willow: Right. Absolutely. And the thing is is like everything that you want is scary because you are emotionally attached to it and you actually don’t want to fail. But the failure is in not doing it at all.
Jamie: Yeah. I love this conversation.
Willow: I know I left. You know what I think about whenever I have these conversations is what it feels like to, um, have these aha moments.
Jamie: Yeah. And they’re game changing.
Willow: They can be one, one sentence can change your life I think.
Jamie: Yeah, I agree. I mean I look at this week that I’ve had and I haven’t even divulged all of it and I’m not going to, but the week that I’ve had this week and you’re like, Holy shit, I am never ever gonna get back to this place again. Like this is, it’s, it’s over from here. Like the lessons that have been learned, the growth that has been happened. And it’s, and it’s, and it’s funny cause it’s like, you know, even my coach is like, well we always have a choice. We can either sit there and be like, man, this happened and feel bad about it. Or you can step into your power. And it’s like, you know where I’m at in my business. It’s like, you know, is this what somebody who makes 50 60 or $70,000 a month would do?
And the answer isn’t if the answer is no, then you have to make different decisions.
Willow: Well let’s speak to that though because a lot of times what we get caught in isn’t the 50 or $60,000 a month entrepreneur. It’s the tiny itty bitty person that you were when you were a kid. Like the fragility of our lives, the aspect where we get caught in our mindset and caught in the minds buck cycle of not doing or, or feeling victimized or not feeling empowered comes from a place of truth inside of us, which is I really felt like I might die. I really felt like everything was going to be taken away from me in that moment. I really felt fragile and I really felt like this was going to be the end of all things. And so we’re nurturing ourselves past that point.
We can’t get mad about it. We are actually 50, $60,000 a month entrepreneurs even though our bank account might say, so we’re actually these, like our adult shells are covering up a tiny person inside of us who is one to eight years old who is still the reactionary tool of its childhood. And so everything that comes at us intuitively and psychically is being reaction by this tiny person inside. And so it’s totally okay to also have a bad week and curl up in a ball and feel scared and feel emotional and feel like the world is going to end. And then slowly pull yourself up and say, all right, the rationality is this and the truth is that, and we’re going to be okay.
Jamie: Yeah. Yeah. And I’m not, I’m, I uh, I used to like really struggle. It’d be like months for me to recover from a week like this. After Tuesday was done, I was like, all right, I’m going in bed watching TV, I’m shelling out. Wednesdays are my internal day for my business anyways. And I was like, I have these two deadlines I have to meet. There’s like no if and or way around it and I’m going to go, I’m going to do whatever the heck I want for the entire freaking day. And I felt like at my, I let go of my emotional, Hey go here. I like finally feel recharge and you’re like, well why didn’t I do this before? Right. Why did I just try and like force it? You know?
Willow: Because again, Oh hun, I just love this again because like the pressure in our society is sort of to bulldoze over fear as well and bulldoze around and push ourselves through the discomfort instead of into the discomfort. Right? Like you had a shitty fucking week. We all have shitty fucking weeks. And the scale of pain and our pain threshold varies from human to human and experience to experience. But we have to go into it and we have to give ourselves permission to recover from it. It’s like it’s extreme guilt or not guilt, extreme grief that happens when we are pushed into these emotional experiences. And so if we don’t treat these experiences as we treat grief, which is a little compassion and nurturing, then when it happens again, it will topple us over. And so I love permission to lay in my bed and watch TV and just not have to deal sometimes and eat, you know. And even on a good day, guys, it doesn’t have to be a shitty day where you end up in bed. You can also have like a Saturday where everything is great and you just don’t get out of bed. That’s allowed to.
Jamie: Yeah. And I think that that’s so important that you say that, that permission. I think we, I can’t tell you how many people I’ve had to give permission to, to stop posting on their own social media, bananas. Um, but I think we’re, we’re so in the space where we don’t want to give ourselves as permission. Like we are not in elementary school. Like we don’t need a permission slip to go to the bathroom or we don’t need a permission slip to do whatever we want. We’re in our own fucking business.
Willow: And isn’t it interesting though, because this topic I think is very real and raw. We have been indoctrinated. Well that means for anybody who’s not speaking indoctrination, it means that like a dog. We have been domesticated and trained to not believe our own mind. And this goes back to this intuition.
It goes back to trusting yourself is that actually the training that we’ve had since we were kids where we had to ask permission to go to the bathroom. That’s us so fucking much in our day to day adult lives that we don’t trust our own mind. We don’t trust our own heart. We don’t trust our own intuition. Your body, when you were a kid said I have to pee. And the rules said you have to get permission. How fucked up is that? And that is again, as adults we are operating from a tiny person. Like there is a one to eight year old who’s actually inside your adult body making all the reactionary decisions for you.
Jamie: Yeah, it’s crazy. Yeah. That’s crazy. So you don’t need permission. I’d love for you kind of just to speak to too, like, cause you, you tr I’ve never had a quote unquote real job. I’ve always worked for myself. Um, so I’d love for you also to kind of speak from that transition from going from one thing to the other and how to know when is the right.
Willow: Well there’s no good time. There’s absolutely no good moment to quit your day job. There’s no great easy, awesome second where you’re like, I’m going to give up my, you know, hundred and $50,000 salary so that I can go back to making 40 K and build myself back up. There’s not a good day for that guys. And there’s not an even Steven moment. So if you are building a business, these things just frankly, they take time and no one’s an overnight success and no one doesn’t have to go through the pitfalls of this, and I’m not trying to scare anybody, but I just want to be real about it. There is no easy transition, but here’s how I look at this and I’ll give it to you in an analogy that just will make sense visually for you. The Caterpillar is very easy on the grass, right? The Caterpillar knows how to climb a tree and get on a branch and knows how to eat the leaves in it. Life is pretty fucking good for the Caterpillar. That is analogous to having a salary as far as I’m concerned is the Caterpillar. And at some point when you decide that you want to start a business of your own or you’re ready to like even expand the business that you have, hire a team, do all the things you’re ready to really go out there and get this thing. You have to go into the phase of the cross list. And what that means is that you’re building out the foundation of everything that you believe to be true. Again, this is the identity portion of your business is through that crustless period. You’d go through this sort of dark space of really reformatting who you are, what you want, and getting really clear about those sort of experiences of aspects. And what that is, is building out the trust and building out the format and articulating really truly your who, what, where, when, why of your business. And once you have that articulation outcomes, this beautiful butterfly that we all seem to think is our spirit animal. But let’s just be fucking honest. Not butterfly comes out of the crustless out of that cocoon and is standing on the branch for its first time ever. It’s gotta be scared y’all. It’s never flown before. Two minutes ago it was a fucking Caterpillar with a salary underneath it. And now it’s like singing the wind beneath my wings and trusting the universe is going to take it and like help it.
Why? So what is the best analogy to transition in business that I can possibly offer any one of you considering this is that at the end of everything there is a moment where you have to decide that you are ready for the wind to take you. Yeah. And that you trust yourself and that you built a foundation strong enough to carry you. And that every single day is an exercise of trust. And some days are going to be $7,500 days and some days are going to be $0 million days and some months are going to be $0 million months and some months you’re going to be like, what the fuck just happened? I made so much money. Yeah. And when you’re in business, those are the pieces in places you have to trust.
Jamie: Yeah. I love that you say that too. Cause I think it’s so, it’s such an important thing to talk about.
Nobody wants to really talk about it and there’s no perfect time. There’s no perfect moment. And yeah, you just gotta kind of jump.
Willow: That’s good to kind of jump with rationality, jump with, find the people in business that can mentor you, find the people that will hold your hand, don’t you don’t have to do this alone. And I think that’s the other rumor that that I wanted to spell and I’m a big believer in some of the online course experiences, but understand that an online course is a little bit like going through an automatic car wash. you’re getting the car clean on the outside, you’re going to get some clarity, some understanding, you’re going to learn some things. But when you bring it to somebody who can auto detail the whole thing for you, you’re going to get some of the bigger intricacies. And maybe that means hiring out a marketing team. Maybe that means hiring out some of the done for you so that you’re not having to do everything by yourself. Just that clarification. So again, when you take the time and the crustless to really build out your vision, articulate what it is that you want, you can start seeing how much money you need and how many people you need to be on your team, even if they’re not full time.
Jamie: Yeah, and I think that’s such an important thing to talk about too, because you know, you were talking about business model earlier, like it’s, you know, the online course, the group coaching, mastermind, kind of that model. And then there’s like the influencer space and those people generally sell, you know, low ticket, high volume, low touch, right? But they’ve got Facebook ads everywhere selling you and how you’re going to go from zero to six figures in six weeks and it’s amazing and bullshit, right? And so I always say like, do your research, right? But this whole conversation that we’ve had this entire time is also really learning to trust your gut. Because if you really tune in to yourself, you know, that’s bullshit. All right? But that’s just selling tour your towards your fear. Like that’s what marketers are trained to do.
Willow: So may I just say the self help and self-development industry is an $11 billion industry. $11 billion. And let me tell you what the self development industry isn’t really selling you trust really trying to make you better. It’s their full goal to keep you in your insecurity or they’re not going to sell $11 billion worth of books. Yeah. Same thing in the online course industry and on the, on the online front, what we’ve learned now is that Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, all of these platforms that we’re obsessed with, that we’re using as tools have been built to the fight or flight aspect of our brain wherein we are triggered by fear and as long as they have as triggered by our not good enough story, not gonna make it unless story, if they’re able to touch into your pain point, you’re going to buy.
Jamie: Yeah. Thank you for saying that too. Cause you know we don’t really do done for you anymore at all. My whole model is this group done with you program and it really is done with you. Like you’re gonna have access to my technical team. You can hop on the call and we can walk you through and hold your hand and show you how. Right? Same thing with YouTube. Like you can jump on with my YouTube expert and we will walk you through and show you how and empower you. Right? But I can’t even tell you I’ve been behind the scenes of so many influencers who number one are like, Hey, got a photo shoot coming up you to go rent this fancy house in Beverly Hills. It’s not even my house for the photo shoot. And let me go, you know, rent a wardrobe from all the online places so I can be in designer clothing and let me put it on this shell and are completely different people behind the scenes. Yeah. And it drives me fucking bananas, bananas, because people are spending hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars doing these things with expecting a certain result. And then there’s people out there like you and me who actually want to make an impact, who are authentic, who are real, who are like doing the work.
Willow: But I’m not renting a mansion bitches. I knew it. And by the way, if you’re to follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you are going to get a very real wrinkled face of a woman who has not Botox. And you know, like I, I’m like, you want to find the people who are fucking real, not fake and doing business by the way. And like doing business. Yeah. Real business.
Jamie: I think that’s such an important conversation to have it. I keep saying, I really feel like this is the year where a lot of that’s going to be exposed. Um, just because you know, it’s been going on for so long.
Willow: We’ve been seeing hints of it and that’s, you know, something that I just want to share is like, I think in business diversification needs to be with a capital D, I don’t think that one model of loan, especially as we are sort of moving past this sort of paradigm of like online world, people are missing each other. We are missing each other. We want to feel, touch and know each other. We want friendships, we want guidance, we want to be held. And in business it is scary as fuck up there, especially when you’re starting out. We need each other and we need to start growing these communities and we need to actually be available to the people who, who need us frankly. And so diversify. Go be in human with people. Leave your house, go to a meetup group, hold somebody’s hand, look somebody in the eyeballs and see how you might serve them. And I know that we have villainized one-to-one work and we have villainized this idea of service even. But like that’s what we as humans actually need. There’s a reason we get massages. There’s a reason that we love our hairdressers. There’s a reason we get skincare and all these things because we want to be touched. We want to be humanized in the online arena. You have to find the people who see you and not you as the dollar sign walking in their door.
Jamie: Yeah. Thank you for sharing that. I think that that’s so powerful. So every person on the podcast, I always ask you to give in so many Ninja tips today, but is there any other Ninja tips you’d like to share with our listeners before we wrap up?
Willow: Um, I guess the one thing that I would offer is that if you want the ultimate and Ninja tips, I actually give a free master away when you sign on and it ignites and activates your intuition. So if you’re really curious about intuition and how this works for you, every one of us has like sort of a signature dial of how intuition works for us. Some of us are more clairvoyance, some of us get really clear information, just sort of dropped in. Some of us can actually hear guides and most of us are feeling things all the time. But understanding how to like really diversify those aspects and understand how they are used in our body and how we can sort of use them in our business. I just really recommend that you hit Willow brabner.com and go get this free master class and learn for yourself how to activate this aspect of, of your abilities so that you can begin to really fully trust yourself and understand when you’re in ego and when you’re in intuition.
Jamie: Thank you. That’s awesome. Thank you so much for coming on the show. I’ve loved this conversation too.
Willow: Thank you for being on my team too, and more of us like spiritual gangster warrior type business peeps. The better I think. Right.
