How to grow your Pinterest
Pinterest is not going away, folks, so today I’m going to share with you 2020 strategies on how to grow your pinterest. Pinterest has just surpassed Snapchat for the most engaged daily users at over 300 million!
The average Pinterest user is a female ages 30 to 49 and her family household makes over $150,000 a year. Pinterest users use Pinterest to plan life events. Now what does that mean exactly? For example a baby shower, wedding, home remodel, or side business.
How to grow your Pinterest Ninja Tip 1 – Pinterest is a Search Engine
Most people overlook the fact that Pinterest is a search engine. Why does this matter to you? Well, because every time you re-pin or pin for the first time it is important to keep this fact in mind. Just like any other search engine, Pinterest leverages keyword rich titles, keyword rich descriptions, keyword rich profiles and hashtags to serve up the best content to its users.
How to grow your Pinterest Ninja Tip 2 – Create a Business Account to Access Data
If you are using Pinterest for business it is important to have a business account. It unlocks the ability to look at the data and determine the number of active monthly users, trending topics, engaged users, and link clicks.
I love being able to look at this data so that I can make smart decisions around the content that I should be creating so that I can get more traffic from this platform. When you switch from a business account, you can go through the process of claiming your website and claiming all of your social media accounts. You can then also create rich pins. Once you complete all of these tasks you signal to the Pinterest algorithm that you are investing time into this platform and therefore they give you a higher search.
How to grow your Pinterest Ninja Tip 3 – Create Multiple Pins for Your Content
When you are thinking about fresh content for Pinterest, I want you to think about things like a product that you might be launching, an article that you’ve written or a blog that you might’ve done or a video you may have posted. Those are all types of fresh content. When you put this content on Pinterest in the past, it was always recommended that you take that one pin with the same image that you put it on a whole bunch of boards. That’s not the case anymore.
To grow your Pinterest account in 2020 you can take one article for example and then create multiple DIFFERENT pins for it. If you are following the Social Made Simple Process you would take your one weekly piece of marco content and then you would create different images, titles and descriptions for different pinterest boards so that you can determine which search terms are working best on your behalf. So your entire goal is to take one amazing piece of content and promote it everywhere.
Pinterest Growth Ninja Tip 4 – Consistency
I say this for every single marketing platform, get consistent. Once you get into a rhythm with your content, it’s really important to really be consistent about posting, re-pinning, creating fresh content and really just showing up and engaging on the platform. Whatever the commitment is, even if you’re just posting once a day or three times a day, whatever it might be, be sure to be hyper consistent with whatever that is. You can learn more about how I get consistent by checking out a video I recently did.
Pinterest Growth Ninja Tip 5 – Optimize Board Title and Descriptions
On Pinterest you can actually create a title and description for each board as well as put some hashtags in there. Go ahead and take the time to make sure that your boards set up with keyword rich descriptions. The good thing is you only have to do this once and it is very helpful in getting found in the pinterest algorithm.
Pinterest Growth Ninja Tip 6 – Create Relevant Pins
If you have a business account on Pinterest they rolled out this new thing called trending. It’s exactly as it sounds, it shows all of the pins that are trending currently on Pinterest. This is a great way to research relevant content to create and/or repin.
Pinterest Growth Ninja Tip 7 – Create Fresh Content
Create fresh content. This is so freaking important on Pinterest (and any platform really) in 2020 to create fresh content. Fresh content is new content that’s not currently on Pinterest. The Pinterest algorithm is favoring new content to its platform. Okay, so what does that mean? That means for those of you who are creating one piece of macro content and distributing it everywhere that is fresh content. Creating fresh content at least weekly will help you grow your traffic from your pinterest.
That’s fresh content.
