How To Create A Landing Page For Instagram

Have you created a landing page specifically for your instagram account? Instagram isn’t going away anytime soon with stories growing increasingly more popular and long form posts crushing it in the news feed it is time to get serious about creating a landing page specifically for your instagram page. 

Now, you might be thinking why do I want to create a landing page specifically for instagram, can’t I just link my website? Sure, you can absolutely link to the website but let’s be honest here…they are probably going to do everything EXCEPT give you their email address. Why? Because well, it is easy to get distracted and forget them taking any action at all if your website isn’t mobile friendly. The other challenge is that instagram wants you to stay inside their ecosystem and on their mobile centric platform. There are no links in the captions and you can only get access to the swipe up feature if you have over 10,000 followers. As a business owner though, you realize the importance of driving traffic to the macro content that you create and building an email list. In comes the instagram specific landing page. 

What do you do? Create a landing page specifically for your instagram account and the things you would want users to take action on. For example, if you have a podcast or youtube, more than likely you’d promote that on instagram. So that is something you’d want to have a link for. Same goes for you freebie or opt-in. Do you have a signature class or program? Yes, link that. Do you want people to book a call with you? Yes, link that. More on what else to include a bit later but I think you get the idea! 

Now there a several different ways in which you can create these landing pages: 

1. Linktree (an additional pay per month service to remove their branding) 
2. Use your existing website (most technical) 
3. Use Clickfunnels or other landing page software (relatively easy and mobile friendly) 

There is a service called Linktree which is specifically designed to create instagram landing page. The free verision works ok but really to access all of the feature you need the full blown version and if I’m honest I don’t really want to pay for another piece of software each month. 

You can create a landing page on your existing website assuming you have the technical know how to hide the menu, create the buttons and or graphics and know how to make it mobile friendly. This can be challenging if you don’t have a technical background. 

For me and many of my clients we are already using a service like clickfunnels or kajabi to create landing page, sales page and opt-ins. I would highly recommend using one of these services for a couple of reasons: 

1. They are typically very mobile friendly
2. They are easy to edit
3. I have a template already premade for you which you can download here. 
4. It will resize easily on different mobile devices
5. You probably already have the skill set to do this. 
6. Did I mention it is quick and easy? 

These types of software, especially clickfunnels, are very mobile friendly out of the gate which I love because when you are creating a landing page specifically for instagram it is essential for it to be hyper mobile friendly because otherwise what is the point. 

I have already created a template which we use for our instagram landing page which I will share with you here. All you have to do is swap out the links and colors to match your brand. Seriously, it doesn’t get much easier than that! 

Now, when I talk with clients about setting this up they always get caught up in the well what should I include on that page. I ALWAYS say you should include no more than 5 to 7 links. Well, what should those links include: 

• Your maco content i.e. podcast, blog, youtube, etc
• Freebie or Opt-in
• Signature Course
• Call to action aka book a call
• Contact info
• Potentially website
• Anything else you want to promote! 

Now, you might be thinking well I talk about other things…yes, but the instagram landing page should be the things you talk about the most! And if you having a launch or something special going on. EDIT THE PAGE! It is meant to be adjusted easily which is why I like a landing page software like clickfunnels to help you. That way, if you want to, you can DIY it! 

Lastly and most importantly do not forget to include google analytics on the page AND the Facebook Pixel (or any other tracking pixel you may be utilizing)!
